a suitcase long time ago

Kronborg Castle, at the seaward approach to The Sound Øresund, is one of northern Europe's most important Renaissance castles. There is a museum in the castle in which things are exhibited related to navigation and vessels. Among many travel products exhibited, the suitcase shown in the picture caught my attention. It seems around the mid of 20th century one. It looks very functional. One compartment in left side is for clothes and they are packed up without being fold. In the way, no wrinkles are made in clothes. The other compartment in the opposite side is for small stuffs and there are 5-6 drawers. In that way, small travelling stuffs don't roll over in the suitcase. It seems a movable wardrobe. It is a shame that it is bulky and heavy, though.

My guess is that the owner would definitely have some status and money, so he could have servants carry the suitcase around. That's what happened in India by the English, so for me there is some colonial undertone here.

Wow! I didn't see the social aspects related to this suitcase. They could explain why the suitcase was big and heavy at that period.
In the context, there are actually two users for the suitcase: multi-users. That is, a servant and a kind of rich guy. Interesting story!
