Recently these tiny signs were added to the gates information system at Schiphol. In the airport, very often I have heard announcements. For instance, "Mr. xxx you are delaying the flight. Please come to the gate as soon as possible". While you are in shopping mode, you think you will be able to make it to the gate before the gate closes. But not necessarily do they in reality. The distance between where shops are and where the gate is sometimes very far. People in shopping mode do not know about how long exactly it will take to get to his gate. This often ends up with late boarding. Actually this problem happens because the airport is huge. Anyway, this tiny information on the information system helps passengers a lot. It doesn't push people in a hurry. It's just saying the fact in a positive way. I think this is a good example of Dutch design. I love it.

최근들어 스키폴의 게이트 정보시스템에 작은 변화가 생겼다. 공항에서 아주 자주 듣는 안내방송 중의 하나가 "아무개씨 당신은 지금 비행기를 지연시키고 있습니다. 빨리 몇번 게이트로 와주세요"다. 사람들이 쇼핑 모드에 있을 때, 모두들 게이트에 시간에 맞게 도착할 수 있을꺼라고 생각한다. 그러나 현실에서는 반드시 그렇게 시간에 맞게 도착하는 것은 아니다. 숍들이 있는 곳과 게이트가 있는 곳 사이의 거리가 때론 너무 멀고, 쇼핑 모드에 있는 사람들은 사실 게이트까지 얼마나 걸릴지 정확하게 알지 못한다. 그 결과로 보딩이 늦어지고... 공항이 너무 커서 그런거지 사람의 문제는 아닌데 말이지. 어쨌든, 안내정보시스템에 추가된 이 작은 정보는 승객들(그 중에서도 쇼핑 중인 승객들)에게 엄청 도움이 된다. 이 조그만 것이 사람들에게 서둘러라고 말하는 것도 아니고... 그저 사실을 긍정적으로 보여주고 있다. 더치 디자인의 좋은 사례지 않을까? 사랑스럽다.
