We, IO Delftee hold the PhD day every year to get to know each other better and stimulate research within the faculty. It was held in 29 October last year. I was a member of organizing the day in 2008. Actually I am still working for that. The day isn't only for people within our faculty. Some people outside the faculty were invited, who were designers, product managers in Philips, and scolars in other fields. They were involved in workshops and discussion on design research. It wasn't easy to arrange the whole day for our PhD colleagues and professors. There were workshops in the morning, oral presentations of PhD studies in the afternoon and so on. I was exhausted at the end of the day. But I was happy to hear that it was very nice and productive. I was able to take one step deeper into our PhD community through this event. 우리 산디공학과 델프티들은 매년 '박사의 날''을 개최하고 있다. 목적은 서로 더 친해지고 팩컬티내의 연구를 촉진하기 위해서이다. 작년에는 10월 29일에 열렸는데, 나는 2008년 ''박사의 날' 조직 위원 멤버였다. 사실 아직까지 그 일을 하고 있지만....  이 행사는 학과만의 이벤트가 아니라 학과 바깥의 사람들도 초대가 된다. 실제로 일하고 있는 디자이너들, 필립스의 제품 매니저들, 그리고 다른 분야의 학자들. 그들은 주로 워크샵과 디자인 연구에 관한 토론에 참여한다. 박사과정 동료들과 교수들을 위해서 하루 전체를 계획한다는 것이 결코 쉽지 않다. 오전에는 워크샵들, 오후에는 박사과정생들의 연구 발표 그리고 기타 등등.... 그 행사가 끝나갈 무렵 피곤에 지쳐 거의 쓰러질 것 같았다. 하지만 동료들 혹은 교수들로 부터 아주 훌륭했고 매우 생산적이었다는 이야기를 들었을 때 그런 피곤함은 저 멀리 가있었다. 무엇보다 이번 행사를 기획하면서 우리 박사과정 커뮤니티에 한걸음 더 깊게 다가갈 수 있었던 것이 나에겐 의미가 크다. 이 날의 행사에 관심이 있다면, 이곳을 한번 둘러보시길...
