Why are there two knobs on the door of a toilet for the disabled on the train? It must have something to do with usability. But how does it help them open or close the door?

I was the only guy who couldn't speak Dutch at the meeting where about 20 people joined all day long. I am supposed to get used to it but still it is a torture to me. It's not easy to live as a minority in a society. Yet when everything was finished the sky was so beautiful, at which I looked while waiting for a train to home.
