There is a production activity at Cosanti with which Soleri is able to keep surviving: indeed, architects often have little to do with earning money. There he has produced bronze and ceramic wind-bells as well as tiles. This is not for a mass production but like souvenirs for visitors to the place. I was told he had been inspired by wind-bells in Korean temples (Korean wind-bells must be a very good souvenirs to represent Korean culture. They are hardly seen on the touristic streets). The bells at Cosanti produce as very soft and deep sounds as Korean ones do. It is interesting that some of the tiles have holes for lighting switches.

솔레리가 살아남기 위해서 코산티에선 일종의 생산활동이 이루어지고 있다: 건축가로 산다는 것은 실은 돈을 버는 것과 큰 관련이 없다는 의미에서. 그곳에서 그는 청동 혹은 세라믹으로 만들어진 풍경과 타일들을 생산하고 있다. 대량생산은 아니고 방문객들에게 파는 기념품의 개념으로. 솔레리는 한국의 절에 있는 풍경에서 그 종의 영감을 얻었다고 한다 (한국의 풍경은 한국적이며 좋은 기념품일텐데 여전히 구하기가 쉽지는 않다). 코산티의 풍경들은 한국의 것들 만큼 아주 부드럽고 깊은 소리를 만들어낸다. 그곳의 타일들 중 일부는 벽에 있는 조명스위치를 위한 구멍들을 가지고 있다. 재미있는 디자인이다.
