A pedestrian button was covered with a piece of fabric on which 'under construction' was printed. A vinyl package of a stick ice cream was also put between the traffic pole and the fabric. It must have been done by a pedestrian. This behavior however presents two interesting points. One is that traffic pole near pedestrian crossing could be used as trash bin into which pedestrians dump small garbage. This can be possible to install a trash bin in the pole inside which is hollow. The other is that the one, who threw the ice cream package out there, might have done so because the ice cream package has yellow color and it is the same as that of the fabric. Thus, separate garbage collection can be remade based on this finding. Let say, the trash bin for paper is made with newspaper color and the one for plastic with transparent color like a PET bottle. As far as I know, some countries have given colors to specific trash bin but it doesn't work well because the colors they have used don't match with the ones of their garbage people perceive (e.g. blue for plastic and black for paper).
보행자 버튼은 '공사중'이라고 적혀있는 천조각으로 씌워져있다. 또한 아이스크림의 비닐 포장지가 신호등기둥과 그 천조각 사이에 끼워져있다. 어떤 보행자에 의해서 저지러진 것임에 틀림이 없다. 하지만 이 행위 자체는 2가지의 흥미로운 점들을 시사하는데. 즉, 횡단보도 가까에 있는 신호등 기둥은 보행자들이 그들의 작은 쓰레기들을 버릴 수 있는 장소로 이용될 수 있다는 것이다. 신호등 기둥의 안은 비어 있으므로 그 안에 쓰레기통을 설치함으로써 가능하다. 다른 하나의 시사점은 그 아이스크림 비닐포장지를 그곳에 버린 사람은 아마도 그 포장지의 색상이 그 천조각의 색깔과 같아서 그런 비양심(?)적 행위를 했을 것이다. 따라서 쓰레기 분리 수거는 이와 같은 현상을 바탕으로 다시 만들어질 수 있다. 즉, 종이를 위한 쓰레기통은 신문의 똥종이 색깔로 만들고 플라스틱을 위한 쓰레기통은 PET 병처럼 투명하게 만드는 것이다. 내가 아는 바로는 몇몇 나라들이 특정한 쓰레기를 위해 쓰레기통에 특정한 색상을 부여하고 있는데, 그렇게 큰 효과를 못보고 있는 것 같다. 그 원인을 생각해보면 그들이 사용하는 색상들은 사람들이 인식하는 쓰레기 자체의 색상들과 일치하지 않기 때문이다 (예, 플라시틱 파란색, 종이 까만색).
