In Korea, I was taught that woman's pregnancy period is about 10 months. Recently I was told that it is 9 months here. According to Wiki, pregnancy usually lasts between 37 and 42 weeks. Both 9 and 10 months would make sense, calculating the period on monthly basis. However, we need to take it into account that there is difference with regard to months on pregnancy period concept between Korean and Dutch people. It seems to result from cultural differences between the two countries.
예전에 한국에서 여자들의 임신기간은 10개월로 배웠다. 하지만 최근에 한 친구로 부터 임신기간이 9개월이라는 이야기를 들었다. 위키페디아아 따르면 임신기간은 37주와 42주 사이. 그 주들을 개월수로 계산할 때, 9개월도 10개월도 말이 된다. 그렇지만, 한국과 네덜란드 사람들을 비교하면 임신기간에 관한 개념에서 서로 다른 개월수을 말한다는 것을 염두해둘 필요가 있다. 이것도 문화적 차이에서 기인된 개념의 차이라고 생각한다.
