It has a typical form of a coffee cup: curvy shape, wide mouth and narrow bottom. From the aesthetic point of view, it suits well when black colored coffee is filled in it. Whereas, it is very practical to drink a soup in it because it has a grip which helps hold it: the picture shows a coffee cup filled in Korean soy bean soup. Elegant products such as the cup could be something different when they meet our daily things.
곡면, 위 부분이 바닥에 비해 넓은 전형적 형태의 커피잔. 미적 관점에서는 이 잔에 까만색의 커피가 담겨있는 것이 잘 어울린다. 반면, 손잡이가 있어 이 컵은 soup을 마실 때에도 아주 실용적이다. 사진은 한국의 된장국이 담겨진 커피잔을 보여주고 있다. 이런 컵과 같은 elegant한 제품들이 우리들 일상의 것들과 만날 때 무엇인가 다른 의미를 가질 수 있다.

a decorative container, typically made of glass and used for displaying cut flowers
how to be differently used
It was a vase which was rarely used at my home. It lay at a corner of my bathroom(+toilet), always occupying a space. I don't like to see a thing being without doing anything. So, I have used it as a candle container, which is often used to light up my bathroom(+toilet), by putting a candle in the vase. The candle's illumination looks to me more beautiful in the vase than in any other typical candle containers.

용도: 꽃병
주로 유리로 만들어진 장식용 통으로써 절화들을 담아 장식하기 위하여 사용됨
다르게 사용되는 경우
집에서 아주 가끔 사용되는 꽃병이었다. 일정한 공간을 차지하며 목욕탕(+화장실) 한 구석에 항상 놓여있었다. 나는 아무것도 하지 않으며, 다시말하면, 주어진 기능을 하지 않으며 어떤 것이 존재하는 것을 보지 못한다. 그래서 이 꽃병에 초를 넣어 놓고 목욕탕(+화장실)을 밝히기 위한 촛불그릇으로 자주 사용해왔다. 초의 불빛은 나에게 다른 어떤 전형적인 촛불그릇보다 이 꽃병에서 아름답게 빛난다.

how to be differently used
Plastic bags have been used as many different uses such as a soup container shown in the picture above, which was observed in Thailand. In South Korea, a plastic bag is often used to put on a dish in snack stalls on the street so that a new dish can be provided just by replacing it with a new plastic bag without washing it after a use.

용도: 비닐봉지
물건들을 봉지에 담아서 한꺼번에 물리적으로 쉽게 나를 수 있도록 사용자를 도와주는 것
다르게 사용되는 경우
비닐봉지는 태국에서 관찰되었던 위 사지느이 국물 용기처럼 주용도와는 다른 많은 용도로 사용되어지고 있다. 한국에서는 비닐봉지가 길거리 포장마차에서 플라스틱 접시에 자주 씌워지는데, 이는 한번 사용 후 접시를 씻지 않고 그냥 음식물이 묻은 비닐봉지를 새 비닐봉지로 교체함으로써 편리하게 새 접시를 제공할 수 있다.

The project I am doing involves people from diverse fields: professors, academic experts, consultants, designers, government officials, PhDs, managers at companies, secretaries and so on. Most of them came together for a big meeting and their portraits were taken togher.
내가 속해있는 프로젝트는 다방면의 사람들로 구성되어 있다: 교수들, 전문연구원들, 컨설턴트들, 디자이너들, 공무원들, 박사학생들, 회사의 매니저들, 비서들 기타 등등. 대부분의 관련자들이 중요한 미팅으로 한자리에 모였고 그들의 인물사진들도 함께 찍혔다.

3월말에 프로젝트 전체 미팅. 5명의 PhD 학생들과 교수, 그리고 기업체 사람들이 모두 모인 자리에서 프로젝트의 성공을 기원하며 케잌을 잘랐다. 축하는 좋지만 결국 우리 박사과정생들은 모두 난자당하고 사람들의 뱃속으로 사라졌다. --;
There was a meeting where all stakeholders including 5 PhDs gathered and talked at the end of March. A cake was prepared to wish success of the project. For celebration, we 5 PhDs were harshly stabbed and disappeared into their stomaches. :(
