There are several national parks in Arizona and most of them are pretty extensively spread in the state. So, it is impossible to make fence around them. It doesn't seem clever to control visitors by gates or rangers in this area, either. An alternative can be like the peopleless entrance fee vending machine in the picture, appealing visitors' conscience. Since there is nobody to help visitors use the machine nearby, it has very clear and easy-to-understand instructions on the interface with picture and text together on each sticker. It isn't pretty...it is very well designed from usability perspective, though.아리조나에는 여러개의 국립공원들이 있는데, 그들 대부분은 아리조나의 곳곳에 광활하게 펼쳐져 있다. 그런 이유로 그 공원들을 철망으로 둘러싸는 것은 불가능하며, 게이트나 관리인으로 방문객을 관리하는 것도 현명한 아이디어는 아닌 듯 하다. 하나의 대안으로 사진에서와 같은 입장료 무인판매기가 될 수있다. 그 판매기의 사용을 도와줄 사람이 주변에 없기때문에, 이 자판기는 그림과 글을 함께 넣은 스티커를 인터페이스에 적용, 아주 분명하고 이해하기 쉬운 사용법을 보여주고 있다. 사용편이성 측면에서 아주 잘 디자인되었다. 예쁘지는 않아도...

Although I have used toothpaste for more than 30 years, I still press the upper part of a tube of toothpaste to put toothpaste on my toothbrush. Habits don't seem easy to change. To correct this type of human behavior and help efficient use of toothpaste, there are several types of products on the market: small piece of plastic products to be additionally put on toothpaste. I haven't bought those kind of plastic products because I don't like to buy an additional thing for a thing. In the picture, a paper clip is shown, used to do the same function as the plastic products. Actually this is 'no need to spend additional money to save a little money'. Because the clips are very popular and I am sure you have a couple of them on or near your desk.30년 넘게 치약을 사용해왔지만 나는 여전히 치솔에 치약을 바르게 위해 치약 윗부분을 누른다. 인간의 습관이란 바뀌기가 쉽지않은 것 같다. 이러한 인간의 행위를 바로잡고 치약을 아껴쓰기위해 사실 시중에는 여러 제품들이 나와있다: 치약에 끼워지는 작은 플라스틱 제품들. 나는 어떤 하나를 위해 추가적으로 다른 하나를 사는 것을 좋아하지 않기에 그런 플라스틱 제품들을 사본 적이 없다. 사진에서의 종이용 클립은 그런 플라스틱 제품들과 같은 기능을 하고 있다. 이는 곧, 작은 돈을 아끼기 위해 추가적인 돈을 들일 필요가 전혀 없는 방식의 제품 활용이다. 왜냐하면, 이 클립은 요즘 아주 대중적이고 확신컨데, 여러분의 책상 위나 부근에 그 클립 몇개는 반드시 뒹굴고 있으니까.

I went to the Costco in Chandler to buy a golf glove. There was a Callaway one. I have usually tried it on to see if it fits to my hand because even small size didn't often fit to me. Their package was not openable with hand. I couldn't try it on. Instead, it provided a hand figure on its package to get to know one's hand size. So, I put my left hand on the figure. As expected, it said my size was small. I bought a small size one. At home, I opened it hard and tried it on. Damn! it wasn't tight to my left hand at all. Next day, I returned it. I am sure the company knows well how most of golfers choose their glove. But they spent too much attention selling them rather than understanding golfer's behavior.골프장갑 한짝을 사기위해 챈들러에 있는 코스코에 갔다. 마침 캘러웨이 제품이 있었다. 보통 나는 그것들이 꼭 맞는지 확인하기 위해 직접 손에 끼워본다. 제일 작은 사이즈도 자주 내 손에 안맞기 때문이다. 장갑의 포장은 손으로 열수 없게 튼튼하게 되어있다. 그래서 직접 끼워볼 수 없었다. 대신에 그 제품은 포장에 손의 사이즈를 알 수 있는 손 그림을 제공하고 있다. 할 수 없이 나의 왼손을 갖다 대었고 예상대로 제일 작은 사이즈였다. 그것을 사서 집에서 끼워보니 에잉..... 손에 타이트하지 않다. 약각 느슨한 느낌. 다음날 그것은 즉시 반품되었다. 캘러웨이라는 회사, 골퍼들이 어떻게 장갑을 고르는지 잘 알텐데, 이 패키징 디자인은 실제 골퍼들의 행동보다 판매 편의성에 너무 몰두한 것 같다.

What I observed in the toilette is after peeing most of people pushed the thing once which looks like a knob on the top of the faucet, even though there was an information sticker on the wall in front of them, saying it is an automatically operated faucet. This design makes users confused to recognize it is the faucet knob. Actually, it doesn't function as either a knob or handle. It is just fixed and didn't do anything. Its designer should have taken it into account to avoid its looking like a faucet with a button or handle to operate as long as it is automatically operated.화장실에서 관찰된 것.... 이 화장실에서 소변을 눈 대부분의 사람들이 수도꼭지 위에 달린 손잡이로 보이는 것을 한번씩 누른다는 것. 바로 앞 벽에 자동으로 작동되는 수도꼭지라는 안내 스티커가 있었는데도 말이다. 이 디자인때문에 사람들은 그것을 수도꼭지 손잡이로 인식하고 결국 사람들을 헤깔리게 한다. 실제 이 손잡이처럼 생긴 것은 손잡이가 아니다. 그냥 그 곳에 붙어있고 아무 역할이 없다. 이것을 디자인한 친구.... 이 수도꼭지가 자동 작동이라면 버튼이나 손잡이처럼 보이는 부분을 수도꼭지에서 진작에 배제했어야 했다.

I have used many different kinds of wall clocks. Since I used them, what I felt in common was very hard to hang it on a nail or screw on the wall. Different from others, the Mondaine clock I bought has a hole well designed to be easily hung on the wall (see the bottom picture and compare it with a clock manufactured by Portmeirion. It is awesome! I haven't had any dissatisfaction to open their packages, but Mondaine's packaging design that makes it easier to unpack its package is really beautiful in the sense of usability. It has a hole to open its package on an side with the kind instruction "pull to open". No clock packaging has this sort of kindness, ever. I feel a beauty not only because of its shape and color but also because of its "use-friendly" design.지금까지 많은 벽시계들을 사용해왔다. 그것들을 사용한 이후로 내가 공통적으로 느끼는 것은 벽의 못이나 나사에 그 시계들을 걸기가 너무 어렵다는 것이다. 다른 것들과 다르게, 몬데인 시계는 벽에 쉽게 걸수 있도록 잘 디자인된 홈이 있다 (제일 아래 사진. 왼쪽의 포트메리온에서 생산된 시계와 비교해보세요). 몬데인 시계 멋짐! 지금까지 이런 종류의 벽걸이 시계의 포장에 대해 불만을 느껴본 적은 없지만, 몬데인의 포장디자인(포장을 쉽게 풀 수 있도록 디자인됨)은 사용성의 관점에서 아름답다. 열기 쉽게 "당기면 열림"이라는 친절한 설명과 함께 포장의 한쪽면에 귀여운 홈을 가지고 있다. 어떤 시계도 이런 포장을 가지고 있지 않다. 몬데인 시계의 조형과 색상에서 뿐만아니라 그 "사용하기 편한" 디자인때문에 몬데인 시계에서 어떤 미를 느낀다. @ den haag in february 2009
