"Papa in the heaven! please take care of us. I wish my sick mom, my hurt eye, my puppy, and my sister would be fine....and so on...." (In South Korea, people sometimes put down their wishes on a piece of roof tile with which a roof of a temple is built in order to make them come true). Many drops make a shower. I believe their tiny wishes will be something in near future and all their wishes come true.

"하늘에 계신 아빠, 우리를 지켜주시고.. 나의 아픈 엄마, 나의 아픈 눈, 내 강아지, 내 누나 모두가 괜찮길 기원합니다....그리고...또한..." 작은 빗방울들이 모여 소나기간 된다. 나는 그들의 조그마한 소원들이 쌓여쌓여 가까운 미래에 이루어질 것을 믿는다.

친구와 가족이 곁에 없었지만, 한국의 그 파란 겨울 하늘을 볼 순 없었지만, 명절의 그 왁짝지걸한 시끄러움이 느낄 순 없었지만, 사랑하는 모두 이에게 의미있는 한해가 되었으면 한다. 없는 재료로 힘들게 만들었지만, 떡국에게 감사한다.

In spite of neither friends nor families, and neither such a clear and blue sky nor lovely noise from family reunion on the Korean new year's day, I wish you all valuable 2008. I appreciate the Korean rice cake soup though it was not well-prepared.
